Revision 2.0 adds increased functionality to Quinn-Curtis graphics software

Revision 2.0 affects the .Net versions of QCChart2D Charting Tools, QCRTGraph Real-Time Graphics Tools, and QCSPCChart SPC Charting tools

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Boston, Mass. – April 2, 2009 - Quinn-Curtis, Inc. has released Revision 2.0 of its popular .Net graphics software: QCChart2D Charting Tools, QCRTGraph Real-Time Graphics Tools, and QCSPCChart SPC Charting tools. The largest number of changes occur in the QCChart2D software package, which has been expanded with the addition of 25 new classes to support  six new charting/plot types, elapsed time scaling, vertical time scaling, dataset viewers, and new user interface routines for zooming and panning. Additions to the QCRTGraph software include: scrolling support for elapsed time coordinate systems, vertical scrolling, a grid viewer for process variables, and a collection of UserControl classes which simplify the creation of bar indicators, meters, dials, clocks, panel meters and scrolling graphs. The QCSPCChart software has been continuously upgraded over the last couple of years and the 2.0 release includes  new options for labeling of the tick marks in batch control charts: time stamp labeling and user-defined string labeling. Since QCRTGraph and QCSPCChart are built on top of the QCChart2D software, developers get all of the new features associated with the QCChart2D software.

Developers with older versions of the software, but  within a two-year window, can upgrade to Revision 2.0 for free, using the download links they were sent at the time of their original order. Developers outside of the two-year window can purchase an upgrade by clicking on the same download links.

Developer versions of the software can be downloaded under a 30-day trial. Applications created using the software can be redistributed royalty free; no redistributable license is required. Details are found on each products web page.

Starting with Revision 2.0, we have eliminated support for Visual Studio .Net 2002 and Visual Studio .Net 2003. This way we no longer have to configure the libraries for the lowest common denominator of .Net, and can use new .Net features not found in original version. The software is compatible with  Visual Studio .Net 2005, Visual Studio .Net 2008, and higher.  All example program projects are in Visual Studio 2005 format, and automatically convert to Visual 2008 format when loaded using that compiler. If using VS 2002 or VS 2003 is an absolute requirement, you should use the 1.7 version of this software.

Currently, only the .Net versions of the software are at Revision 2.0. The .Net Compact Framework, and Java, versions of the software will be upgraded in the course of the next several months.

New Features added to Revision 2.0

QCChart2D

bulletFive new general plot types - for Cartesian, time and elapsed time coordinate systems: BoxWhiskerPlot, FloatingStackedBarPlot, RingChart, SimpleVersaPlot, and GroupVersaPlot
bulletAntenna Charts - Antenna charts are commonly used by engineers to plot  the performance characteristics of antenna designs. Antenna charts are a circular chart type similar to a polar chart, the differences being angular displacements are measured clockwise, and radial values can range from negative to positive.
bulletElapsed time scaling - time based scaling based on the .Net TimeSpan class, which measures elapsed time without an implicit date.
bulletVertical axis scaling for time/date and elapsed time coordinate systems - All of our users in the well-logging industry will appreciate this new feature.
bulletDatasetViewer class - for the grid-like display of dataset information in a chart table.
bulletMagniView class -Pass a magnify cursor of a window and see a constantly updated, and magnified, view of the data in a second window.
bulletCoordinateMove class - use the mouse to grab the chart and drag, or pan it:  left, right, up, down.
bulletIntegrated zoom stack processing - Undo zoom events with a mouse click.

QCRTGraph

bulletNew scrolling support - for elapsed time coordinate systems.
bulletVertical scrolling - with auto-scaling for numeric, time/date and elapsed time coordinate system.
bulletA collection of UserControl based  “Auto” classes - simplify the creation of bar indicators, meters, dials, clocks, panel meters and scrolling graphs.
bulletRTProcessVarViewer - a class for the grid-like display of process variable historical data in a table.
bulletPlus, all of the new QCChart2D features.

QCSPCChart

bullet Batch Control Chart tick mark labeling - New options for labeling of the tick marks in batch control charts: time stamp labeling and user-defined string labeling, in addition to the default numeric batch number labeling.
bulletX-axis labels can be rotated 360 degrees.
bulletNew features added in Rev. 1.7- EWMA, MA and CuSum charts, support for variable subgroup sample sizes, and alarm emphasis modes for the the tables and charts.
bulletPlus, all of the new QCChart2D features.
